Jack Sam1, on 04 September 2010 - 06:44 PM, said:The only problem about being forced to retake driving tests concerns those people whose everyday lives depend upon the ability to drive. (i.e. truck drivers, commuters etc). The argument for enforcing driving tests every 6 years is that it ensures that those on the road are safe drivers who know the rules of the road etc. However, there are 2 problems that I can think of. Firstly, it supposes that newly-qualified drivers who have had NO unsupervised driving experience are better drivers than the middle-aged proportion of the population who couldn't bay park correctly, for example. That makes no sense. Secondly, it doesn't address those people who know the rules of the road and how to drive properly but simply do not. It is easy enough to practice safe driving if in the middle of a test, but who's stopping you when you're on the road?
Leave the traffic police to identifying unsafe drivers if and when they break the relevant laws. Merely enforcing a test every 6 years will do nothing. I agree that at retirement age, say 60+, a test should be taken again every 5 years, say, but not before then.
I agree entirely with this post. One thing this doesn't cover is whether or not the driver has to pay for these tests. If they were to, the amount of drivers on the road will decline; a fact which is both good and bad. Also, if this were to be initialised, the auto-mobile market will see a noticeable decline in profits; in this economic situation this isn't desirable.
I say leave the tests to the older generation. -

Whilst it isn't elitist to dislike a game, like the way I don't like 36 Card Trick, your attitude is elitist by saying `Ew`. The `I don't play` option already insinuates that the person doesn't like Arcanists; that will be more than fine. -

15 Mar 2010 - 12:15Now that you posted a new one, your old one that you posted earlier (the one I 'ignored') is gone, is it not? That's the problem. Another example is that now I can't remember who asked "What is March Camp?", but if it was you I'll answer here too: (out of space, continued next post)
