Courtesy of Mod Dunk, I'm happy to announce the members-only beta of Void Hunters. It's all about hunting in the vast void of space - hunting, that is, with a custom-built spaceship, constructed from only the very best battlefield scrap! Use Sandbox Mode to build the mean, lean space fighter of your dreams, then take it online to destroy other Void Hunters' ships in an epic multiplayer battleground.

And with this project, we're trying something new. We've decided to release Void Hunters as a beta for FunOrb members only, to help us stress-test our servers, fix bugs and tweak the game balance in a real-world environment. (By limiting this beta to members, we should be able to stress-test the servers without putting too much strain on them.)

But that's not all: we know that we always get good, useful feedback from our player community, and we want you to take part in the development of Void Hunters by giving us your feedback on this beta version. Visit our forums for your chance to shape this upcoming game.

After keeping you in suspense for so long, we decided that it was about time we told you more about our Summer Games event!

We've already hinted there will be 2 parts to this awesome event and they are:

1. Arcane Amphitheatre! This is going to be a massive, marvellous, members-only tournament based around our most popular game - ARCANISTS! We've got a magnificent knockout tournament planned and signup opens TODAY! So head on over to the signup thread and put your name down! Stakes will be high for this memorable event, as we have a variety of prizes up for grabs, including a Dell laptop for the winner and an iPod for the runner-up! There will also be dual FunOrb and RuneScape membership, plus other prizes!

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention the tournament-specific Achievements! So, what are you waiting for? If you've never had membership before, but fancy pitting your wits against the best Arcanists players out there, membership is available from just £3.20 / $4.95 for 1 month!

2. The Gauntlet is our single-player section of the Summer Games. Over the course of 3 weeks, we'll challenge you to show us that you're the best of the best in 9 of our most popular single-player games! We know a number of you are still sweating it out on the football pitches in our Kickabout League Tournament, but we have something else up our sleeves for you to get hot under the collar about: the FunOrb Summer Games!

Yes, last year's Olympics was such a success that we thought we'd bring you more of the same - revamped and improved for 2010! We've already ordered the trophies, started polishing the medals and practised spraying champagne around the office!

We can't give away too much right now, but we can say that the event is made up of two separate competitions: The Gauntlet, and the Arcane Amphitheatre. There will also be Summer Games 2010 Achievements up for grabs for those who prove themselves in the Arcane Amphitheatre.
